Westminster Council Holds Firm on Violations at 113 Main Street

The city of Westminster is requiring the owner of the vacant property at 113 Main Street—the former Cleveland Auto Parts Store—to either rectify numerous building code violations or demolish the structure. During a city council meeting on Tuesday, officials held firm on findings presented by the city’s fire marshal and code enforcement officer, noting that the location has historically generated the highest number of local building complaints.

Councilwoman Daby Snipes added that the public frequently questions what actions the city will take regarding the property. Despite an appeal from a representative of an Anderson-based real estate office currently listing the building for $199,000, city officials emphasized the severity of the situation, citing no fewer than ten international property maintenance code citations.
