Westminster Death Investigations

According to Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis, at approximately 9:05 pm, Thursday night, January 15, 2026, Oconee 911 Communications received the report that a husband and wife had been discovered dead in their home located on Cromer Moore Drive, near Westminster.

The 911 call was placed by a family member conducting a welfare check after attempts to reach the couple had been unsuccessful.

These deaths occurred within the jurisdiction of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office and Oconee County Coroner Office.

Based on the preliminary scene investigation and observations made, these deaths are being investigated as a homicide. No further details will be released at this time due to the ongoing law enforcement investigation and the scheduling and performance of autopsies on the victims.

The victims are identified as: Larry Moore, Age 76 and his wife, Sandra Moore, Age 75.

Both of these individuals died from traumatic injuries and their cause of death is classified homicide.

Autopsies were performed on Friday, January 16, 2025.

Mr. Larry Moore died as a result of stabbing injuries which resulted in his death. The number and location will be withheld at this time as the investigation continues.

Ms. Sandra Moore died as a result of manual strangulation.
