Westminster Murder Suspect Arrested in Gainesville, GA

William Barney Drummond, 43, wanted for murder in a fatal hit-and-run Monday in southern Oconee County, was arrested without incident today in Gainesville, GA. Gainesville Police took Drummond into custody, discovering a firearm on him, and transported him to the Hall County Jail for extradition. Investigators noted he had changed his appearance. Drummond is charged with the death of 34-year-old Devon James Turner, who was struck by a black 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 dually on S. Highway 11 near E. Spearman Road. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office continues its investigation and thanked multiple agencies for their assistance.
