Westminster taking Bids for Street Improvements

The City of Westminster is now taking sealed bids for the construction of sanitary sewer system improvements to Park Avenue and Pritchard Street. This involves the installation of approximately 3,466 feet of low flow eight-inch gravity sewer line with 23 manholes and all necessary appurtenances to replace and upgrade existing mains in the service area. This project is being funded by a grant from the South Carolina Rural Infrastructure Authority and all bidders must comply with all applicable state and federal requirements identified in the contract documents. The City of Westminster reserves the right to waive any informality, and the right to reject any and all bids. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Each bidder must deposit with his bid, security in the amount, form and subject to the conditions provided for in the information for bidders. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of the opening thereof. For work costing $5,000 or more, the bidder must be qualified under the provisions of the South Carolina General and Mechanical Contracting Act of 2001, Chapter 11 – Title 40, as amended. Where a mechanical subcontract amounts to $5,000 or more, the subcontractor shall be licensed under the same act. Bids will be received by City of Westminster at City Hall, which is located at 100 East Windsor Street, until 10am on May 30.
