Westminster Water Customers Asked to Use Conservatively

City of Westminster water customers are being asked to please conserve non-essential water use until further notice. Westminster asks its water customers not water lawns, fill swimming pools or use large amounts of water if it’s not necessary.

Westminster has an emergency water connection with the City of Walhalla that will be utilized in the short term to supply water to Westminster customers. There are adequate stores of water for household use and for matters of public safety. This is NOT a boil water advisory.

Construction crews have been working this week to change out water pumps at the raw water intake. An emergency backup plan was a part of the construction process. Thursday mid-morning an electrical issue caused both the primary and backup motors to fail. Crews are working to replace the pumps so water stores can be replenished to normal levels and the voluntary conservation can be lifted. Updates will be provided as they are available on the City’s website, Facebook account and on 94.1 The Lake.
