WHS Army JROTC maintains Gold Star Rank

The Cadets of Walhalla High School’s Army JROTC recently participated in their Annual Formal Inspection.   The inspection is given to evaluate the aptitude of the program and determines whether the class can maintain its Gold Star Rank, which symbolizes an Honor Unit with Distinction. After a briefing by the JROTC staff, Cadet Battalion Commander Brandy Turpin led the inspectors to the gym, where every cadet was inspected in their formal uniform.   Cadet Taylor Bratcher led the Color Guard and Cadet Hannah Mangan lead the Armed Platoon drill sequences to show proficiency in drill and ceremonies.  In the end, the JROTC Unit kept the Gold Star Rank with an overall score of 97.5 and is rated as an Honor Unit with Distinction, the highest possible rating. This is the 10th consecutive year the Walhalla Razorback Battalion has retained its Honor Unit with Distinction status, an excellent foundation for Cadets to carry on to next year.
