2014 Palmetto Boys State selected

Walhalla American Legion Post #124 proudly announces the selection of seven rising seniors at Walhalla High School who recently represented the post and community at the 2014 edition of Palmetto Boys State. According to Legion spokesman Jerry Dyar, Boys State was again held on the campus of Anderson University June 8-13. Dyar said, “Post 124 is very proud of all the young men who help make up the student body out at Walhalla High, and we were especially proud to have our Boys State selection committee made up of Michael Hamor and Ron Blair go out and interview ten outstanding young men who will be a part of the senior class next school year. Hamor and Blair reported to our legion members that their task very difficult. With the help of staff members and Sonya Cote at the school, Hamor and Blair selected seven young men that our post felt real good about as they went down to participate in the Boys State summer program”. Dyar added, “ Some of the students will be visiting with Post 124 members a little later on to expound on their week long adventure as they learned more about establishing good government and making better citizens of themselves.”
