37th Annual Pendleton Spring Jubilee set

Ready for sunshine, warm breezes and a day in the park?  Then plan to attend the 37th Annual Historic Pendleton Spring Jubilee presented by Anderson Independent Mail.  This award-winning community festival coordinated by the Pendleton District Commission was recently named the “Best Festival in the State of South Carolina in a Community of less than 5,000.”  The annual event welcomes 30,000 visitors to help the Town usher in spring on and around the quaint Village Green.  Be on hand at 9:45am to see the Opening Procession lead by Bagpipes from Hunter’s Store to the State behind Farmer’s Hall.  Festival Hours are 10am to 6pm, Saturday, April 5, and 12 – 5pm, Sunday, April 6. Artists and crafters from across the Southeast and as far away as Missouri, Ohio and Illinois offer a wide variety of original creations.  Included are artwork, baskets, lawn furniture, jewelry, pottery, stained glass, ironworks, fused glass, and more. Old Stone Church, Ashtabula Plantation and Woodburn Plantations will open for tours on Saturday and Sunday during festival hours. Adjacent to Woodburn Plantation on History Lane, Bart Garrison Agricultural Museum of South Carolina features pre-1925 farm equipment and local history artifacts.  A part of the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor Farmer’s Association, the museum will be open on Saturday.  Saturday morning dawns with biking enthusiasts in helmets pedaling 28 or 63-mile treks through the scenic countryside in the 22nd Jubilee Joy Ride presented by the Orange and White, a product of Anderson Independent Mail.  The ride begins at 8am at the Bart Garrison Agricultural Museum of SC, 120 History Lane.  Pre-registration is recommended, however registration will be open the morning of the ride at Bart Garrison Agricultural Museum of SC.
