A Friend in Need?

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office recently charged a man, Terrell Hemingway, with Breach of Trust. The charge came after Hemingway allegedly defrauded his childhood friend of nearly $20,000. The scam started in September when Hemingway reconnected with his friend over the phone. He claimed to have found a trailer and Freightliner truck for his friend at a great price using his South Carolina dealership license. The victim paid Hemingway $19,665.12 for the items, but Hemingway never delivered the truck or trailer. Following an investigation, Hemingway was arrested and charged.
