Addiction Support Group available in OC

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office would like residents to be aware of a local support group for families dealing with a loved one who is struggling with drug addiction. On the first Monday night of the month, a support group meets in Walhalla at the administration offices of Christ Central Ministries at 205 South John Street. There information about a particular drug is discussed, with the effects of that substance and the issues that an addict may be facing. Testimonies are provided by those who were addicted and by families members who have dealt with addictions of loved ones. Right now, the support groups meets only one time a month but if there is an increase in attendance, more meetings may be organized each month to meet the need. An addiction support groups also meets in Pickens County every fourth Thursday night at His Pavilion of Grace, which is right across from Pickens City Hall.
