Additions made to SenecaFest 2014

A laser show is being planned for SenecaFest 2014, the city’s annual celebration over Memorial Day weekend.  This week, the Seneca Events Committee approved a plan to add the show, explains Seneca Events Coordinator Riley Johnson.  “It looks like we are going to do a laser show right after the John Anderson and Bellamy Brothers concerts at the Gignilliat Community Center.  It is going to be neat, we are excited about it.  Right now, we are getting some proposals from some of the groups that do this type of things and we know some of them, so as soon as we get the proposals we will be able to take them back.  But yes to the laser show, we are excited about that.” Another addition has been made to SenecaFest 2014, tells Johnson.  “The Downtown Merchants are doing Springing On Downtown.  The local merchants are going to be blocking off Ram Cat Alley and Townville Street and they will have arts and crafts, jugglers, cartoonists and so many other great things Friday night to go along with everything that is happening in Seneca for SenecaFest 2014.” Johnson says SenecaFest 2014 will be three days of fun in the city.  “It is going to be a great weekend, we start it off Thursday night with Jazz on the Alley and we have the Funk Factory Jazz kicking it off.  Friday night we have the Big Show Classic Car Cruise-in with Donnie White and all the gang will be out there.  And of course, Springing On Downtown and then we have a Color Run too.  So, it is going to be a great weekend and we look forward to having everybody visit for SenecaFest 2014.”  SenecaFest 2014 runs May 22-24.  To learn more about all the activities or to buy tickets to the big Saturday concert visit www.seneca.sc.us.
