American Pickers coming to Upstate of SC

A popular set of treasure hunters are coming to the Upstate of South Carolina. Oconee County Chamber executive director Jillian Lusk announces that American Pickers, a History channel show dedicated to visiting American cities and going through local private collections to find “American treasures” will be filming in North and South Carolina Sept. 17 thru Oct. 1. They will choose their exact locations based on the collections they find to rummage through in the area. There is no guarantee they will be in Oconee County unless they find a collector worth the trip. Three years ago, they were in Pickens County. The producer will be in town, scouting leads Sept. 6-19. The Oconee County Chamber seeks all potential collectors that might be a good fit for the show. “This series has millions of viewers from all over the world and will be a great chance to showcase Oconee County’s beauty as they wander through the community,” said Lusk. If you are interested in sharing your treasurers on the show, call the Oconee County Chamber at 864-882-2097.
