Anderson County Teen Charged with Serious Offenses

The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of a 16-year-old male near Wren High School on Wednesday. The suspect, a student at the Renaissance Academy, was on a bus en route to Wren High School for specialized instruction. Upon his arrival at the school, deputies detained him and discovered a stolen loaded 9mm handgun in his book bag during a search. The teenager is now facing two counts of 2nd-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of possession of a stolen firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm on school property. At the time of the incident, he was the only student on the bus. Despite having the weapon in his possession, deputies have stated that he did not threaten anyone.
