Anderson Man arrested on Outstanding Grand Larceny Warrant from OC

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested an Anderson County man Friday afternoon on an outstanding warrant on charges of grand larceny. According to an arrest warrant issued on Oct. 27, 2014, 56-year-old Michael Anthony Fortner stands accused of stealing a Hopper Black trailer from Willard’s Tractor on South Highway 11 in the Walhalla area. The trailer was valued at around $3,000. The incident is said to have occurred on Oct. 25 of last year. A press release was issued by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office on Oct. 29 announcing the arrest of one person in the case and seeking the public’s help in locating Fortner. Fortner was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center after deputies from the Warrants Division transported him from the Wateree River Correctional Institution. He is being held at the Oconee County Detention Center on a $10,000 surety bond.
