Anderson Police Officer Charged with Misconduct and Assault

Former Anderson police officer, Brantley Keith Creel, 35, is facing charges for injuring two handcuffed suspects during 2023 arrests, according to the South Carolina Enforcement Division (SLED). On November 3, Creel allegedly kneed a victim twice in the head/neck area, causing two jaw fractures and loss of jaw use. On November 14, another victim hit his head on a railing post due to Creel’s actions, resulting in a four-inch laceration treated with two staples. Creel is charged with two counts of misconduct in office, first and second degree assault and battery. SLED is also investigating another Anderson officer for alleged misconduct.
