Anderson Residents arrested on Drug Charges in OC

Two Anderson County residents were arrested on drug charges Tuesday after a pursuit that began in Oconee County ended in Anderson County. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office reports that 37-year-old Kizzie Lynette Roebuck and 40-year-old Thaddeus Antonio Thompson stand charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. In addition, Roebuck faces traffic tickets for failure to stop for a blue light and driving under suspension. During the lunch hour on Tuesday, a deputy spotted a Ford Taurus traveling northbound on I-85 make an improper lane change. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and the vehicle exited off I-85 onto Highway 243 at exit 4. The vehicle, however, did not stop and proceeded through the stop sign at the top of the exit ramp and turned right onto Old Dobbins Bridge Road. The pursuit crossed into Anderson County and lasted seven to eight miles along Old Dobbins Bridge Road before the vehicle pulled over to the side of the road. Roebuck and Thompson were taken into custody without incident and a search of the vehicle produced 7.5 grams of drugs.
