Anderson Teen arrested for Attempted Murder

An Anderson County 17-year-old sits behind bars for allegedly shooting a man he was trying to rob as the victim fled.  Deputies with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office report that a 911 call was made to dispatch after 10:50pm on April 21 about gunshots in the Newport Commons area on Simpson Road. According to the incident report, two suspects approached the victim, demanding money and jewelry but the victim ran. Deputies later identified one of the suspects as Damascus Moore-Floyd of Anderson, saying he and the other suspect approached the victim and a friend, demanding money and the victim’s necklace. The victim took off running, but Moore-Floyd chased after him and shot him in the back. Moore-Floyd was arrested and charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.  He is being held at the Anderson County Detention Center on $110,000 bond.
