AnMed Health Mourns Passing of Dr. Meadors

AnMed Health is mourning one of their own. Dr. Brad Mock, chief physician executive at AnMed, has released the following statement following the death of Dr. Marshall Meadors III: “The entire AnMed family mourns the loss of this respected physician. Dr. Meadors was a valued member of our medical staff for over 37 years. He served as chief of AnMed’s medical staff in 2002 and 2003, and he was a trusted family medicine physician in the Anderson community. He will be missed dearly.”

Dr. Marshall Meadors III, 65, of Anderson was found dead in approximately 8 to 10 feet of water in Lake Hartwell at about 8:00pm on Monday evening. According to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office, Meadors had been missing for approximately 30 minutes before he was found. The investigation revealed that Meadors was shocked and drowned. Authorities discovered exposed wires on an electrical box that provides power to the dock where Meadors was swimming.

Meadors worked at Primary Care Associates and NHC in Anderson and served on several boards over the years, including the Anderson Arts Center and Anderson Interfaith Ministries. He also helped bring Anderson’s first dog park to Fant Street. A memorial was started near the dog statue on Tuesday.
