April money-loser for OMC

As Oconee Medical Center proceeds down the path toward joining the Greenville Health System, the hospital has recorded another money-losing month.  Sister station WGOG reports that April’s numbers, delivered Monday night at a meeting of the board of directors, came in at $163,014 in expenses over revenues. For the hospital year that started October 1, excess of revenue over expenses has climbed to more than $230,000. Meantime, according to Jeanne Ward, OMC President/CEO, the path toward affiliation is closer. Ward says OMC remains in its stage of due diligence, providing GHS packets of information that the hospital boards are evaluating before taking an affiliation vote, still in the works for sometime late next month. Ward says a large batch of that information was sent last Friday to GHS.
