Architect Rendering of New Utilities Yard in Seneca

Seneca residents are invited to view drawings and ask questions about the city’s plans to build a new utilities’ complex behind City Hall between North Second and Third Streets and bordered by Depot and Walnut Streets. Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander says information on the project is available on the city’s website. “You can see the drawings of the new layout for the Light and Water Yard behind City Hall. There are several pictures there that give some renderings of how it is going to look and how we are going to take that piece of property and conform it into what is going to be the Light and Water Utility Yard. Along with at the Lowery Building there is going to be some things done there. So, this is a big project that will be going on there once we go through the public hearing part of it and let people have some input there and get their feedback on it.” On Thursday, Sept. 25 at 6pm, a public meeting will be held in the Seneca City Hall Council Chambers, concerning the utility operations capital improvement project. The meeting will focus on updates to the warehouse operations. This will be a great opportunity for anyone to learn more about the project, adds Mayor Alexander. “Last year when we were looking at the Kellett Property, one thing we learned there was it is always good to get feedback, so that way you can try to answer questions ahead of time. Therefore, we stepped back, started over again and went to a different location. This will give the public an opportunity if they would like to come and look at it, see if they have any questions, see if it affects them in any way and we encourage that. It is always good to get feedback.” The architectural renderings show a retaining wall and line of trees to help shape the property and obscure the view from adjoining properties.
