Area Churches Encouraged to Worship Online
Oconee County Government along with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is asking area churches to avoid all services that would attract large crowds of worshipers and to opt for online worship services instead during this COVID-19 Pandemic.
According to St. Paul’s Catholic Church’s website, per the Bishop of Charleston, effective through April 1st there will be no Sacramental or Liturgical Celebrations, including Mass, Confessions and Baptisms; All parish activities are cancelled, and the Bishop has ordered a stop to calls for communion in nursing homes, hospitals or private residences until further notice. Sacrament of the Sick will be given in extreme circumstances. St. Paul’s sanctuary is open for prayer, however, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday and Fridays from 10:00 am til Noon.
