Arrest Made in Connection with Bomb Threats
The Oconee County Sheriff’s office has arrested a Seneca woman in connection with a recent series of
bomb threats in Oconee County. Melissa Ann Griggs, 38 of 300 Carter Street Seneca was arrested Thursday on charges of trespassing at Wal-Mart. According to the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, Griggs was established as a viable suspect earlier in the week, suspected of being the individual responsible for the bomb threat calls between February 10 and 11th. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office has been working in conjunction with other local, State & Federal Agencies over the past two weeks. Griggs has been charged with 8 counts making a bomb threat or conveying false information about a bomb threat, first offense. Her bond was set at $226,000 surety. The case is still under investigation.
