Arrest made in Stabbing Monday Afternoon near Seneca

A sixteen year old male juvenile has been arrested in the stabbing of a Seneca man Monday afternoon.  Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details.  “According to investigators, dispatchers received a call of a reported stabbing from a location at 905 Shiloh Road near Seneca around 4pm. A deputy who responded to the scene reportedly found a black male with multiple stab wounds to the upper right part of his body. The victim told the deputy that he was stabbed near a location on Goddard Avenue. When asked who the suspect was, the victim replied with a nickname of the person who he said did the stabbing. The deputy was given consent by the victim to have investigators process his vehicle, a gold Crown Victoria that he was driving at the time of the incident. The vehicle was processed by an evidence tech and was impounded. The victim, 31-year-old Hykeem Shanon Kirkland of 236 Nebo Church Road in Seneca was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital. There is no update on Mr. Kirkland’s condition at this time.” The juvenile has been charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
