Assault and Battery at OC Convenience Center

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help to find an individual who committed an assault and battery at a manned convenience center near Seneca.  The manned convenience center is the Metromont Manned Convenience Center.  The victim told deputies that the suspect brought some items to the convenience recycling center.  The victim then asked the suspect to place the glass bottles in the right container, upon which the suspect became violent and used profanity.  The victim asked the suspect to leave, upon which the suspect shoved the victim and tackled the victim to the ground, where the victim scraped his wrist.  The deputy did discover blood on the victim’s shirt, wrist, and face under his chin.  A witness on the scene was also threatened by the suspect.  According to individuals at the convenience center, the suspect is believed to be in his 50’s, possibly with curly hair and a stocky build.  He is believed to be driving a truck.  The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who has information on this assault and battery to call CrimeStoppers at 864-638-STOP or text in your tip to 274637.  You don’t have to give your name and if you tip leads to an arrest, you could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
