Attempted Murder Trial Will Proceed in Oconee County

Deputy Solicitor Jason Alderman explained to our sister station 101.7 WGOG’s Dick Mangrum that the state’s case against 47 year-old Nathan Fred McCall will continue after a ruling yesterday by 10th Circuit Judge Lawton McIntosh…

Nathan Fred McCall

McCall, a Salem area resident, faces a charge of attempted murder in an incident that occurred the night of April 8th at McCall’s residence on Little River Lane. McCall and Timothy Nabors, Sr. fought in a bedroom and then went outside where a round fired from the weapon struck Nabors in his head. A dispute over a woman is what started the fight between McCall and Nabors, according to court testimony heard yesterday.

Defense attorneys argued that McCall’s actions were in self-defense. He has been in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center since his arrest by Sheriff’s Deputies on April 26th.

He is being held on $250,000 bond for the attempted murder charge, and he is being held for a parole violation, as well, according to jail records.
