Autopsies conducted in Fair Play Deaths

An autopsy has been performed on both Fair Play men discovered dead on Friday afternoon, June 1, at 371 Tammi Lane near Fair Play. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis announces that the autopsy on 66-year-old Wesley B. Lothery of Fair Play, showed he died from blunt force injuries consistent with having been assaulted by someone. His manner of death is classified a homicide. Addis says that Lothery is presumed to have died on May 24, or May 25. The autopsy on 66-year-old Ronald L. Holbrooks of Fair Play was inconclusive and will require toxicology analysis prior to a final cause of death being established. Addis says that his manner of death is classified as pending further investigation. Holbrooks had no fatal injuries and is presumed to have died on May 26, or May 27. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation into the two deaths.
