Autopsy performed in Walhalla Traffic Death

An autopsy was performed Thursday morning on 82-year-old Will Kelley of Mountain Rest, who died Wednesday afternoon in the emergency department at Oconee Medical Center approximately 45 minutes after a single vehicle collision in Walhalla.  Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis reports that the autopsy determined he died as a result of blunt force chest trauma sustained in the motor vehicle collision.  Although preexisting medical conditions were found at autopsy, no definitive event could be documented to support or explain why he lost control of his vehicle and struck the utility pole.
His manner of death is classified as accidental and his death marks the 23rd traffic related death in Oconee County this year.
