Bank Robbery in Toccoa, GA Under Investigation

Our sister station WNEG in Toccoa, Georgia has reported that police there are searching for a suspect involved in a bank robbery.

Toccoa Police said that at about noon on Wednesday, a white male with brown hair and a beard wearing a gray t-shirt, jeans, a ball cap and sunglasses entered the Northeast Georgia Bank on Big A Road. Police said the suspect then handed a note to a teller which informed her that it was a robbery and demanded money. After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot.

Now, police say they have identified a suspect as a 32-year-old man from Pickens County, South Carolina.

Detectives and Agents with the Toccoa Police Department, the GBI, and FBI are investigating. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Toccoa Police at 706-282-3236 or 706-282-3302.
