Basketball Bobcats advance to State Playoffs

Congratulations to both Seneca High School varsity basketball teams for making the AAA State Playoffs. The Lady Bobcats basketball team travels to Columbia Monday night to play Dreher High School, explains Seneca High School Athletic Director Duke Lee. “We are very, very proud of both the boys’ and girls’ teams. Coach Jimmy Towe with the girls’ has done a remarkable job, they are an extremely young group of girls and have really bonded and come together as a team. They finished fourth in the Western AAA Region and go to Dreher High School in Columbia on Monday night.” The Seneca High School varsity girls’ first round playoff game tips off at 6pm Monday night. The varsity boys’ team hosts the first round playoff game on Tuesday, adds Coach Lee. “The boys with Coach Kevin Padgett, again relatively young, but we get to host our first round boys’ game Tuesday night at 7pm. Gates open at 6pm and we encourage everybody to be in the stands by 6:30pm. We want to be Bobcat loud and proud and pack out the gym. So, we invite all the students and the community, this will be a great opportunity to come out and watch some good basketball.” The Bobcat boys’ basketball team hosts Lower Richland on Tuesday night at 7pm. Student tickets are just $5. Of course, 94.1 The Lake will be broadcasting all the Seneca High School varsity basketball playoffs games.
