Beware of Gift Return Policies

The National Retail Federation reports that 10% of Americans will return holiday gifts this year.  Officials offer these tips on returning gifts.  The first and most important thing is bring the gift receipt with you.  Also, bring an ID with you. The National Retail Federation says stores will lose $3.4 million dollars on fraudulent returns and an ID will help.  Officials recommend asking for store credit if cash is not available through the store’s return policy.  Most store return policies average 30 days, so you do not have to rush right away to make the gift return at the store and stand in a long line.
