Tim Hall, Walhalla’s first-year mayor, opened the meeting by stating that, despite recent advancements, the city does not plan to emulate Highlands, North Carolina, emphasizing Walhalla’s unique character.
Subsequent speakers included representatives from key organizations contributing to the city’s quality of life: Ken Sloan of Visit Oconee, city administrator Celia Myers, Mark Thompson of the Center for the Performing Arts, Janet Smalley of Partners for Progress, and David Hyatt of the Rotary Club.
