Big Turnout for Walhalla United Meeting

The community meeting room at the Center for the Performing Arts was packed for the second Walhalla United meeting of the year, organized by the chamber’s Dari McBride. She clarified that Walhalla United is not another organization but aims to unify existing groups for the city’s improvement…

Tim Hall, Walhalla’s first-year mayor, opened the meeting by stating that, despite recent advancements, the city does not plan to emulate Highlands, North Carolina, emphasizing Walhalla’s unique character.

Subsequent speakers included representatives from key organizations contributing to the city’s quality of life: Ken Sloan of Visit Oconee, city administrator Celia Myers, Mark Thompson of the Center for the Performing Arts, Janet Smalley of Partners for Progress, and David Hyatt of the Rotary Club.
