Blue Ridge Electric Co-Op Balloting Results

Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative has announced the results of a two-day balloting for an open Anderson county seat on its board of directors. Will Anderson, a row crop farmer, emerged victorious with 4,296 votes, defeating his competitor Paul Brown, a long-time news media broadcaster and photojournalist, who received 2,564 votes. All Blue Ridge customers, regardless of their location within Blue Ridge’s service territory, were eligible to vote. The voting was conducted in a drive-up at Blue Ridge’s in Oconee and Pickens, and customers didn’t have to leave their vehicles to vote. The annual meeting’s grand prize, a 2015 Chevy Silverado pickup truck, was won by Roy Fowler, a Liberty customer.
