Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative Heavily Involved In Business And Industrial Recruitment, Which Includes Recent Oconee County Economic Development Announcement

(Seneca, SC)———————————-Blue Ridge Electric Cooperative held their 2019 Media Luncheon late last week and part of the comments made by President and CEO Jim Lovinggood concerned economic development and the role that Blue Ridge plays in helping to bring business and industry to Oconee County, as well as Anderson and Pickens counties. 

Blue Ridge was involved in the recruitment of Horton Holdings, Inc., according to Lovinggood. In the recruitment of business and industry, Lovinggood says competitive electric rates are important as well as the quality and stability of the work force. Also, quality of life concerns play a big part in the recruitment of industry, according to Lovinggood. Lovinggood said that one of the sites that Horton Holdings, Inc. also considered before deciding to build their manufacturing facility in Oconee County was right outside of Nashville, TN. 

Mr. Lovinggood also announced that Capital Credit checks have been mailed out to Blue Ridge members totaling $1 million dollars. This year marks the 37th consecutive year in which general funds have been made. To date, $27.2 million dollars have been returned to members.
