Board of Trustees Recognized

At last night’s regular board meeting, Board members Andy Inabinet, Jerry Lee, Denise McCormick, Buddy Herring and Rosemary Bailes were recognized for their dedicated service to the students, employees and families of Oconee County schools as a part of School Board Recognition Month. The South Carolina School Board Association also recognized Denise McCormick for ten years of school board service.  This year, 33 school board members from throughout the state will receive special lapel pins for reaching the 10 or 15-year benchmark.  Another 18 will commemorate 20 years or more of school board service. For the 2014 year in South Carolina, about 60% of the state’s 620 school board members have 10 years or more of board service. The South Carolina School Board Association is a non-profit organization serving as a source of information and a statewide voice for boards governing the 81 school districts.
