Bobcat 76 T-shirts benefiting SHS Student

Seneca High School is selling t-shirts to benefit a student recently diagnosed with a brain tumor. Seneca High School Coach Andrew Jenkins tells about the Bobcats 76 t-shirts benefiting Tony McDowell. “He’s got a tumor in his brain and he is doing great but we are selling t-shirts to raise money for his family and trying to help them through this process because it’s a lot of hospital visits and cancer treatments and that sort of thing. The kids have done a great job; we sold out of wristbands that we were selling for $2. 100% of the profit goes to Tony and we are making a fund for him. Anybody that wants to get involved can come to the high school and talk to Mr. LeCroy or Mr. Edgar.” Coach Jenkins says Tony is doing great in his fight against brain cancer. “He is doing great right now; he just went through his first week on chemotherapy. He had three surgeries while he was in the hospital. They did not remove the tumor, but it is not big enough to do damage. They found no brain damage when they went in and the chemo is going great, he hasn’t been too sick but it is going to be a long road to recovery.” Tony was diagnosed with a brain tumor after complaining of headaches. Under new rules concerning concussions in high school football, Tony was evaluated and a MRI was conducted. Doctors said had he not gone through the concussion protocols, he could have died in less than a week.
