Bobcats beat Razorbacks on Homecoming

In a fiercely competitive region rivalry game, the Seneca Bobcats beat the Walhalla Razorbacks 31-21 in their Homecoming game at Bobcat Stadium Friday night, Oct. 13. Seneca scored first on a 7-yard run by Jeremiah Mackey. Walhalla tied the score on a 28-yard touchdown run by Adrian Massey. Then the Bobcats broke that tie with a 33-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Braden Galloway to wide receiver Coleman Smith. Seneca scored again before the half on a 30-yard run by Mackey. During halftime, Shaina Patel was crowned the 2017 Seneca High School Homecoming Queen. On the first offensive play of the third quarter, Seneca added to their lead when Galloway connected with Aireeze Alexander on an 80-yard touchdown pass. Walhalla answered back with a 3-yard touchdown pass, Brett Favre style, from quarterback Chris Meadors to wide receiver Aaron Seigle making it 28-14. In the fourth quarter, Bobcat kicker Hunter Pearson hit a 36-yard field goal to make the score Seneca 31, Walhalla 14. The Razorbacks scored a late touchdown as Meadors threw a 23-yard pass to Seigle. Both kickers, Pearson of Seneca and Patrick Nations of Walhalla were perfect on their extra points with Pearson making all four and Nations making three. With the win, the Seneca Bobcats improve to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in AAA Region 1 while the loss drops the Walhalla Razorbacks to 6-2 overall and 2-1 in region play. Seneca is back in action on Friday, Oct. 20, as they travel to play the Crescent Tigers in another region game.
