Bobcats capture Region with win over Warriors

The Seneca Bobcats (9-0) captured the 2015 Western AAA Region Football Title Friday night by beating the West-Oak Warriors (0-9) 56-6 at Coach Tom Bass Field at Bobcat Stadium. The Bobcats celebrated Senior Night before the game, honoring 24 football players, five cheerleaders and ten band members as well as their parents. Quarterback Elijah Turner accounted for three touchdown passes, a 20-yarder to Chris Latimer, a 44-yarder to Andre Wright and a 15-yarder to Daquan Mackey. Mackey also had a 36-yard touchdown run. Jacory Benson scored on touchdown runs of 13-yards and 46-yards. Trent Rankin added a 10-yard touchdown run. Rome Tabron capped the Seneca scoring with a 3-yard run. Bobcat kicker Hunter Pearson made all 8 point-after attempts. With the win, Seneca earns their first Region Title in football since 1996. The Bobcats wrap the regular season with a visit to Daniel on Oct. 30.
