Bobcats host Bulldogs in First Road of State Playoffs Tonight

It’s another battle of the Bobcats and Bulldogs tonight, Nov. 9, 2018, but this time in the first round of the AAA state football playoffs. Seneca High School (SHS) Varsity Football Head Coach Hal Capps breaks down the Camden Bulldogs. “Well, they’re an outstanding football team. They have two players, a center and a defensive tackle, that are playing in the North-South Game. Both of those young men are 6’4” or 6’5” and 300 plus pounds, big, athletic and strong. They could very easily be 9-1, we watched both of the over time games they had on film and they had their chances then, so they are as good as a 7-3 team, but could be a 9-1 team, could be a region champion coming out of a tough region that they are in. We just think we have our hands full, so we are going to have to play extremely well.” Coach Capps tells more about the Camden offense and defense. “Well, you are going to see a huge offensive line. They are just going to try to lean on you, pound on you and wear you down. You are going to see a defensive line that is equally as good. Offensively, they are going to spread the football, but they are going to run a Wing T type formation and plays out of that spread. They are trying to spread you out to run the football. They want to get you out of the box to run the football. Defensively, they are a four man front. We feel like their defensive line is as good as any we have seen this year. They are very aggressive and attack.” The crowd will once again be a factor tonight, adds Coach Capps. “Oh its going to be huge. I think it is going to be as any game this year. With the travel distance that Camden is having to take on, they’re probably two hours and thirty minutes away. So, that is going to be difficult for their fans and their student body to travel that far. So, I expect us to be really loud and proud.” Kickoff of the Seneca Bobcats versus the Camden Bulldogs is tonight at 7:30pm. If you can’t make it to Bobcat Stadium, listen here on 94.1 The Lake, WSNW.
