Bobcats, Lions and Warriors win Week 1 Games

The Seneca Bobcats avenged last year’s playoff loss to the Greer Yellow Jackets with a 35-27 victory on Friday night at Coach Tom Bass Field at Bobcat Stadium to open the high school football season.  Marquis Arnold lead the way for the Bobcats, scoring four rushing touchdowns.  After having lost to Easley the last three seasons, the Daniel Lions defeated the Green Wave Friday night, 41-9 in their season opener. West-Oak’s Chandler Mays booted a 40-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Warriors past their big rivals the Walhalla Razorbacks 17-14 in the Apple Bowl at Razorback Stadium.  Mays’ kick came after the Warriors scored 14, unanswered, fourth-quarter points to capture their first win over the Razorbacks since 2010.
