Bobcats to play Football after Thanksgiving

A dominate performance by the Bobcats Friday night means varsity football continues in Seneca after Thanksgiving. In the second round of the Class AAA State Playoffs, Seneca beat the Chapman Panthers 55-14. The Bobcats were lead by senior running back Braxton Gambrell, who rushed for three touchdowns; 21, 9 and 10-yards respectively. Junior running back Jacory Benson added two scores on runs of 3 and 15-yards. Senior quarterback Elijah Turner connected with senior fullback Trent Rankin on a 4-yard touchdown pass. The Bobcat defense added points as well. Senior cornerback Chad Earle intercepted two passes and returned them for scores, 40 and 60-yards respectively. In addition, senior safety Devin Kendrick intercepted two passes. Sophomore kicker Hunter Pearson went seven of eight on extra points. With the win, the Seneca Bobcats improve to 12-0 on the season and host South Pointe in the third round of the Class AAA State Football Playoffs at Coach Tom Bass Field of Bobcat Stadium on Friday, Nov. 27.
