Bobcats travel to Greenville Tonight to play Patriots

The Seneca Bobcats travel to Greenville tonight, Oct. 12, to play the Powdersville Patriots in a region game. The Bobcats look to stay unbeaten in region play as the Patriots still look for their first win of the season. Seneca High School Varsity Football Head Coach Hal Capps says the Patriots are a young team and despite their record, his team will be ready for a challenge. “Due to graduation they had a couple of kids transfer out. They still have talent, they just don’t have the talent to help the talent show its talent. They are just in a situation right now where they’re having to play a lot of young kids, inexperienced kids that are taking their lumps, but the thing that you can always count on is that there is going to be better days coming. When those young pups grow up to be boy dogs and getting after it, they’re going to be able to do somethings.” Coach Capps breaks down the Patriots’ offense and defense. “Offensively they want to run the football. They will throw it if they have to, but they are not going to throw the deep ball very often. Defensively, they play a 3-4 defense. They want to blitz and creating pressure in the backfield.” Once again, the Bobcat faithful will be needed on the road tonight, concludes Coach Capps. “We should be fine tonight weather wise, so that shouldn’t deter the crowd from coming at all. Our student body always rocks and I know they are going to be there. I know the parents and grandparents are going to be there. So, we just need Bobcat faithful to cheer on these kids. It’s a good time and for $6 you’re going to be entertained for two and half hours.” Kickoff of the Seneca Bobcats at the Powdersville Patriots is tonight at 7:30pm.
