Boil Water Advisory for Westminster

UPDATE: Affected rural Westminster water customers may go back to normal use of their service.  The city announces a second set of bacteria tests were free of any contamination, and the boil advisory has been lifted.

The City of Westminster has issued a boil water advisory for certain areas due to a water line break that resulted in a loss of pressure in the system. The affected areas include Phillip Lear Road, Chauga Road, and other locations south of Dr. Johns Road and Johns Mill Road up to Foxwood Hills. Residents in these areas are advised to boil their water for at least one minute before using it for drinking or cooking. Ice made from unboiled water should not be used. The city is currently testing water samples for bacterial contamination. The advisory will be lifted once the water is deemed safe.
