Braves fall to Brewers and now behind Cardinals

It was not the game the Atlanta Braves wanted as they attempt to secure home-field advantage for the National League playoffs. A benches-clearing brawl after Carlos Gomez crushed a first-inning home run off Paul Maholm will stand as the most memorable moment created during Wednesday night’s 4-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers at Turner Field.  With this latest loss, the Braves fall a half-game behind the St. Louis Cardinals in the race to secure the best record in the National League and gain home-field advantage leading up to the World Series. Atlanta owns the tiebreaker against St. Louis and still has four games to secure home-field advantage. The Atlanta Braves are 93-65 on the season.
