Broken Water Line on Pearman Dairy Rd in Anderson

A water line burst early Friday morning in Anderson caused ice to form across a major road.  Workers were called to the scene around 5am to Pearman Dairy Road near South Main Street in Anderson.  The extremely cold temperatures are being blamed for the water main break. The National Weather Service at GSP International Airport reported a record-tying low temperature for this date overnight of nine degrees, matching the mark set in 1963. Traffic had to be rerouted around the area and crews laid sand across the ice covered section of road.  Water service has been restored to all customers in the area.
