Budgets Were Featured Agenda Items This Week for Westminster and Seneca

On Tuesday night, the Westminster city council voted to approve a new budget for the upcoming year. The budget exceeds $27 million and includes a 5% cost of living increase for city employees as well as pay raises for the mayor and council.

The formula for this year’s property tax bills has been adjusted to include a decrease of 3.5 mills. However, the city administrator, Kevin Bronson, noted that it is the responsibility of the county auditor to determine the millage necessary to fund the budget.

In Seneca, the millage rate remains at 62.7 mills and the city council unanimously approved all items pertaining to the approximately $64 million municipal budget for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins July 1st.
