Candidate qualifies and is nominated

The state’s Judicial Merit Selection Commission has deemed attorney Scott Sprouse of Walhalla qualified to move into Seat 2 as the Tenth Circuit Judge, serving Oconee and Anderson counties. The commission yesterday gave Sprouse a unanimous vote as it nominated him to run in a May 28 election by the state legislature. He will go into that election unopposed to succeed Alex Macaulay who retires December 31.
