Candidate Qualifying opens Wednesday

Candidate qualifying for public office opens this week across South Carolina. These two weeks, allows people to sign up to run in this year’s primary elections and declare party affiliations. Those interested in public service for local or state offices can register at their county Voter Registration and Elections Office. One local exception is for those running for 10th Circuit Solicitor as the S.C. Election Commission Office in Columbia accepts those. The qualifying opens at noon on Wednesday, March 16 and closes at noon on Wednesday, March 30. Candidates need to bring money to cover their filing fee, which is based on a formula that county and state election workers can explain.
