Cash Decides Not to Seek 3rd District Congressional Seat

Attendees at a political event in Anderson were expecting to hear a state senator articulate his platform for the 3rd congressional seat in Washington. However, Richard Cash had a surprise in store. He dispelled rumors that he would pursue the seat soon to be left vacant by his fellow Republican, Jeff Duncan. Instead, Cash declared his intention to run for another term as a state senator and pledged his support to Stewart Jones, a state lawmaker from Laurens.

In the wake of U.S. Representative Jeff Duncan’s announcement that he will not seek re-election, another Republicans stepped forward as a potential successor for the South Carolina 3rd congressional seat. Sheri Biggs, a resident of Salem and an officer in the Air National Guard, announced her bid for election. Biggs’ campaign announcement presents her as a pro-life advocate, a supporter of the 2nd amendment, and a believer in the possibility of a new presidential term for Donald Trump.
