Casto to announce Two Stores for Hartwell Village

The first two retail stores have been announced for Hartwell Village near Clemson. Oconee Economic Alliance executive director Richard Blackwell expects Casto, the national real estate company involved with the project, to announce even more stores soon. “The cat got out of the bag a little bit that Ulta Salon, Cosmetics and Fragrance of Illinois and Marshall’s of Massachusetts are coming to town and will be part of Hartwell Village, which will be a 300,000-square-foot commercial development with about 300 new jobs that will have both a mixture of retail, restaurants, and potentially one new hotel and maybe even a second hotel. So, we are extremely excited about the project. Certainly with these two retailers announcing is again exciting for the county having those two be a little closer to us in Oconee County is a benefit. Many people had to go out to go visit those stores, so getting those different shopping items closer will be a huge benefit to our community. We are excited that Casto is looking to come to town probably around the first of May is what we are told to come and make another series of announcements related to that development, so slowly but surely we will start to see a nice commercial development there on Highway 123.” Casto Oconee, LLC, is expected to make a presentation to the Oconee County Council in May about additional retail stores and restaurants for the project on the land near New Spring Church, which is the site of the former Milliken textiles plant.
