A methamphetamine conviction means an Upstate man will spend the next 18 months behind bars. On Monday, Jason Matthew Albertson pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine, second offense. In the Oconee General Sessions Court, the Honorable Scott Sprouse sentenced him to 18 months in prison.

All branches of the Oconee County Public Library (OCPL) will be closed on Monday, Jan. 15, for Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Book returns will be open at all locations and the library website, www.oconeelibrary.org, will also be available. All locations will reopen at their normal times on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Driver Hill Road, just to the north of Richland Road, will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 9, and all traffic detoured while the work is being performed.
